EPGL, or Europa Poland Gliwice, is a four-letter abbreviation for the location of airports given by the International Civil Aviation Organization.

The first flight in Gliwice took place in 1910, from a runway that was organized behind the Forest Castle. Three years later, Berlin authorities urged the city to establish an airport, which was to be located on the site of the current Forest Bath. Since 1916, the airport has been located in the fields towards Bojkov. The place was bustling with life, serving as a passenger airport, but also providing entertainment such as the flight and landing of the Zeppelin. During World War II, the airport served as a military airfield. 1999, half a million people met Pope John Paul II at the airport. Currently, the area belongs to the Gliwice Aero Club.

EPGL, czyli Europa Polska Gliwice to czteroliterowy skrót oznaczający lokalizację lotnisk nadawany przez Organizację MIędzynarodowego Lotnictwa Cywilnego.

Pierwszy lot w Gliwicach odbył się w 1910 roku, z pasu startowego, który został zorganizowany za Zameczkiem Leśnym. Trzy lata później władze Berlina wezwały miasto do utworzenia lotniska, które miało znajdować się na terenie obecnego Kąpieliska Leśnego. Od 1916 roku lotnisko mieści się na polach w stronę Bojkowa. Miejsce te tętniło życiem, pełniło rolę lotniska pasażerskiego, ale także dostarczało rozrywki jak np. przelot i lądowanie Zeppelina. Podczas II wojny światowej lotnisko pełniło rolę lotniska wojskowego. 1999 roku, na terenie lotniska pół miliona ludzi spotkało się z Papieżem Janem Pawłem II. Obecnie teren ten należy do Aeroklubu Gliwickiego.
